Russian Tourism roadshow 2012

Russian Federal Agency for Tourism (Rosturizm) is conducting a series of events in the Republic of Buryatia, Rostov and Smolensk regions under the Federal Target Program "Development of domestic and inbound tourism in the Russian Federation (2011 - 2018)".
The events, as well as the entire program have shared objective – to increase awareness aboutRussia as a country favorable for tourism and recreation, promotion of national tourism product and attraction of direct foreign investment in Russia's tourist infrastructure, which should lead to increased competitiveness of the Russian tourist market.
During the event, plenary sessions and round tables on performance of public tasks in the field of tourism development in the Russian Federation will be held with participation of heads of federal bodies, local authorities, representatives of international organizations, educational establishments and the business community in the tourism sector.
 
International tourism forum "To the roots of Rus" will take place in Smolensk on May 21 - 22, 2012
Forum is timed to the “Year of Russian history”, being celebrated in 2012. The main events in the current and next 2013 will be:
• 1150 anniversary of the birth of Russian statehood;
• 200th anniversary of Russia's victory in the war of 1812;
• 1150 anniversary of Izborsk city founding
• 1150 anniversary of Smolensk city founding.
The Business Forum program consists of plenary sessions, round tables ("The development of domestic and inbound tourism on the eve of anniversary dates", "Promotion of domestic regional tourism products on the Russian and international markets," "International cooperation in the field of tourism"), the presentation of the international tourist route “To the roots of Rus”, the presentation of the Russian caravaners league in the framework of international caravaners’ promotional tour «Vizit Russia».
The Forum participants will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the exposition of tourist potential of the Russian Federation regions.
 
From June 5 to June 9, 2012 the Republic of Buryatia (the Ulan-Ude and Kyakhta cities) will host an international tourism forum "Cross-border cooperation in tourism. International tourist route "The Great Tea Road"
The Forum supported by the Federation Council Committee on Social Policy of Russian Federation, Interregional Association "Siberian Agreement", the Association of Tour Operators of Russia, the Russian Union of Tourist Industry, non-profit partnership "The Great Tea Road" (Russia), the Alliance "Tea Road" (PRC), an association of the "Culture Tea Road "(Mongolia).
Forum is included in the Plan of Events for the Year of Russian tourists in China in 2012 and aims to become a platform for constructive dialogue and inter-regional cross-border cooperation in tourism, and promote the formation of competitive tourism projects and programs, attract investments and innovation in tourism industry, tourism development and promotion of the "Great Tea Road."
The Forum Program consists of business events, including a conference, "Cross-border cooperation in tourism”, the fourth business meeting of the tourist route "The Great Tea Road” participants, roundtable "Experience in the tourism business in the cross-border routes”, meeting of the “The Great Tea Road" Association, Kyakhtinskaya trade fair, presentation of tourism clusters and image projects.
 
Rostov-on-Don will host the All-Russian Conference "Actual Problems and prospects of development of event tourism" on June 28 - 30, 2012
Event tourism has deep roots and has a significant development in the Rostov region. Culture of the Don Cossacks is diverse and rich. We can be acquainted with Cossack dances and the soul songs at folklore Don festivals. Don historical reconstruction and theatrical performances are popular here, and they, together with folk festivals, gather tens of thousands of spectators and participants every year. The most famous of them - "Maslenitsa in the Cossack", "Sholokhov Spring", "Nothing freer of Quiet Don", international "Kayalskie read," All-Russia festival of military history clubs.
In the frames of the upcoming conference there will be discussed issues of event tourism as a new and promising direction in tourism for the Russian regions; socially oriented aspects of the regional event tourism and their impact on the development of the Russian tourism industry; directions of event tourism promotion: sporting events, historical and cultural activities (thematic festivals), event-tours.
The possibility of conducting outreach sessions in areas of the Azov historical and archaeological and paleontological museum and Starocherkasskaya architectural museum-reserve to discuss development of ethnic tourism and promotion of the Russian territories events to the international market.

The final third stage of the series of Rostourism events for presentation of Russia tourism industry potential “Russian Tourism Roadshow 2012 (SPRING)” was held at the Rossotrudnichestvo Mission in Great Britain and Northern Ireland in London. The two previous stages were held in Berlin and Paris. The event of such caliber is the first one in 20 years of development of Russian tourism industry.

April 16, 2012. The Russian center of science and culture in Paris was a place where a number of Russian regions presented their tourism opportunities and new investment projects to the French audience. We have already dealt with the substantive speeches during the first session. The presentations were introduced by the leaders of Smolensk, Kostroma, Vladimir, Ryazan tourism administrations, and a representative of the Moscow Department of Environment.
